Spaghetti Arms!

I feel a little like Baby in Dirty Dancing with my arms and my hands. I feel like my arms are sometimes just flowing off doing their own thing with my hands flopping, willy nilly, down off the end of them. Yes, I said “willy nilly”. 🙂

I also am still struggling with where the arms are supposed to go in relation to which leg I am using.

And boy do I wish that standing leg would stand straighter. I feel like my knees are still a little bent, or just not quite extended enough. Not sure about that one.

I’m not complaining. Just making a note of the things that I can see need improving. I’m also having a blast and loving ballet. I think if I were to go to a ballet class (especially when I go to the class in Sydney that I want to attend), I would probably get pretty darn confused, as I’m still struggling with my BLLD, but I’m starting to feel a little more excited about going to an in person class.

Some photos below, staring willy nilly hands and not straight legs…

  1. I’d take any of these! It’s got to be exciting about an in-person class, Mumm. I’m getting both excited, and concerned, about mine. When I took ballet at 25, I clearly remember my rather strict instructor working on my “chicken wings”……

      1. We start on the 29th. One other person (my age, too) and me, private lessons every other week. I will make sure to practice at home, that’s guaranteed.

I’d been looking for a day-time class for quite a while. I’m grateful this worked out!

My dream is to be able to stand in a pointe shoe, if only one, and only at the barre. I don’t care. I just want to get to where I can do it once. It will be quite an accomplishment at this age!

      2. That is a beautiful dream and I’m sure you will achieve it. It’s funny the things that touch us, isn’t it? If I were ever to reach a level that I could place my foot into a pointe shoe, I think I’d be giddy with excitement.

I’m sure the private classes will help you move along much faster, too. Can’t wait to hear about it! 🙂

  2. Oewwwww love your turnout! It’s to die for.. and don’t worry about the arms and legs, I don’t see what all the fuss is about, you look gorgeous!
