Okay, so there’s the thing, I love my Bloch PROLITE II shoes. They are okay on my very narrow feet, they are soft, they are supportive on the souls of my feet and they don’t cut my circulation off — thankfully, ’cause I like being able to feel my feet! 🙂
But I am wondering what other people do with their drawstrings? I mean, what actually works? I know of the tucking the bow under thing, but that hurts my skin, so I am looking for an alternative to that.
I read about tying a knot and then stitching it so that it never comes undone. Or others taping the ends of the bow/elastic to the upper inside of the shoe. Does anyone have experience with any of these? Do they work in terms of comfort and not losing the drawstring?
I’d appreciate anyone’s input.

I tie the drawstring in a double knot, trim the ends to just a few inches or shorter in case I need to readjust later (and have enough length to do so) and then tuck the double knot in my shoe. If it is too uncomfortable, I trim the ends even shorter and retuck. I hope this makes sense and helps!

Yea, common practice is all you said above. Personally I tighten to my preference, double knot, trim to about an inch and stuff in my shoes.
Some times the knot may not feel comfortable at first, and if it’s incessant, then I would adjust it. Usually though it doesn’t bother me at all.

I always have the knot just in a bow and I tuck it in my shoe, right where the drawstring comes out of the shoe. The sides of the bow usually go left and right. I don’t feel it very much but maybe that’s because I always wear tights? I don’t know! Good luck on your quest towards comfort, haha! 😉

I am probably not the person to look for guidance from with regard to drawstrings since I get so irritated with mine that I end up pulling them out! I’ve discovered a Bloch model that comes without drawstrings and they make my life so much easier… 🙂

I, too, went with the bloch shoes with no drawstring because no matter what I did tucking hurt the top of my feet.

Looks like I’m the odd one out, because I constantly untie my strings and retie them to suit how my foot feels. If I sewed them, I wouldn’t be able to change their “give”, and I’d be stuck with shoes that are only comfy some of the time.

If you have problems with drawstrings then you may go for elastic lace ballet shoes. They may not hurt you and they offer extra comfort and makes your dancing to be flawless and enjoyable!!
